I've read a lot of posts about dpfe sensors, and wasn't able to find the answer to this question. To check if it's bad, you need to check the voltage into and out of the sensor. When the engine is cold, it should be around 5 before and 0 after. When hot, it should be around 5 before and after. (please correct that if I'm wrong!) My question is, how exactly do you check the voltage? I'm getting a little above my head with electrical stuff, but I'm sure that I could tackle it with some direction. Thanks in advance for your guidance.
If it is bad it should throw the check engine light. If I remember correctly my codes were 401 and 402- one is for insufficent EGR flow and the other for excessive EGR flow. I could be wrong on the codes but I believe this to be correct.

Stubborn - I like that word. People usually just call me cheap!! Thanks for the info. I think that I'll be hitting autozone on the way home. I just did the TSB to remove carbon from the intake system, and will be out in the garage tomorrow AM chaning the plugs, so I guess that I'll be adding the sensor to the list. Thanks again.
