Problem after ICP change

I finally got the ICP changed on another thread but the truck would not start. I looked at the ICP on the scan-gauge and saw 4000. Turned the key off and back on and 4000 for about 10 seconds then dropped to zero. After dropping to zero the truck starts right up. If I shut it down after idling for a few minutes with the ICP showing 875 it won't restart. As soon as I turn the key back on it goes to 4000 and won't start. If I wait it drops to zero and starts.

When it is idling normally the gauge show a solid 825. Never saw it fluctuate idling.

Any suggestions?

Did you replace the pigtail? Was there oil on the electrical connection with the old ICP? If there was you need to replace the pigtail. With the ICP showing a false high it will drive the IPR% open and keep it from starting.

Dealer did not have pigtail so I cleaned with electronic contact spray cleaner and the blew it out with compressed air. I then put dialectic grease on.

I can get the ICPV tonight. Don't have it right now.

Right on, well if there was oil in that connector that is probably the problem and you will need a new pigtail. If she reads 4000 PSI at KOEO the ICPV's should reflect that.

Thanks Mustang. Not sure when I will ever finish this thing. I just got back from the heart doctor and stress test. Had a heart attack in April and they didn't fix the problem apparently. Almost had to take me to the ER after the stress test. I gotta go back in for some more roto rooting ASAP. I call tomorrow to see when they can do it.

Thank you sir. I knew I was not right I tried to get back into the cardiologist within two weeks due to pain and stuff but they told me wait 2 months. I feel I wasted two months of recovery time and could have had ANOTHER heart attack as a result.

Then again this ICP crap might give me one.

Ok, I am back home. Ended up having a double bypass. Feels like I have a Super Duty parked on my chest. Better than the alternative though.

Will be a few weeks now before I can get back on the truck. They say 4-6 weeks before I can even drive.

I will let you know what I end up finding out though.

Glad to see you made it home and you can join us on FTE. The time and recovery will pass fast enough and you'll be at it again before you know it. Prayers DO work.

Ok, I finally had a chance to program in the ICV into my scan gauge. I am seeing 4.48 volts as soon as I turn the key on. The scan gauge doc says it should only be .2 volts with the key on. Does this help at all? I did get a pig tail but not sure how long it will be before I am well enough to crawl back up in there to change it.
