Vaccum Problem ?
On a 87 302....
Does anybody vaccum coffee can hold vaccum after you shut off the motor ?
My vaccum coffee can does not hold vaccum after shutting off the motor... Long time ago it did..
I found the problem..
The vaccum was leaking from the EGR soleniod.(SP) (NOT THE EGR)...
So I replace the EGR soleniod and all the vaccum lines...
but the coffee can still does not hold vaccum after the truck is turned off.
The vaccum is still leaking from the EGR soleniod.
I asked ford and they said that EGR soleniod is working correctly.
They informed me that:
The egr soleniod release pressure from the vaccum coffee can when the egr is not in use so that there is not a build up of vaccum.
When the egr soleniod opens up to bring vaccum to the EGR then the pressure is not release from the EGR soleniod.
This made sense but I had to check this out. If you take the cap off the EGR soleniod you see a filter to help bleed pressure...
When I activated the EGR soleniod then there was not longer leaking pressure..
So is everything work right ? Right ?
Thanks.
Sorry for the long e-mail..
