I was wondering if anybody knew what numbers correspond with the factory temperature gauge. I'm trying to get an idea of what temp my motor is running at, and I want a somewhat specific number because it is a 6.9 diesel now and not the 351m that was originally in it. Currently, it stays right around the "L" of "normal"... Anyone know about what temperature that is? I know that would be a little high for a gasser, but diesels run a bit warmer, I just would like to put a number to it.
Yeah, I know they're not very accurate, but was just wondering if anyone knew about what temperature the L would represent. I am most likely going to get an aftermarket temp gauge as well as a tach.
Good point, let me rephrase that... I am looking for something that isn't expensive, yet somewhat accurate. I know the cheapEST thing won't be very accurate, so that isn't what I'm looking for.
Auto Meter is used a lot but i'v never had one but i hear they are good and not real expensive . I'v used S/W and they have a good selection of not real expensive ones . Looks can make a lot of difference in the price and still have the same parts inside.
