I'm in Australia and new to the 250 scene. These beasts are pretty limited in Oz, selling maybe 100 or so for all of Australia each year (imported and converted from left-hand drive to right-hand drive). Knowledge is pretty limited as a result, although the main guys here that sell and support them are pretty good.
The transmission ECU isn't in the best position, just under the floor on your drivers side. Does anyone know if it's water proof, if I was to cross a river and the water come up that high, would it damage it?
I've never heard of anyone having any issues with that, but there are other things to be concerned about. If you look at your owner's guide you'll note that you're not supposed to wade in any deeper than the hubs, as water can get into the axles and cause problems. I imagine you could also do bearing damage if your sealed front unit bearings get contaminated by water.
Wow, I bet you stand out quite a bit driving that around! I would love to see pictures of how the right hand conversion turned out. I imagine that is quite a bit of work.
Do you have to contend with the DPF and DES system too? Or are those configured for high-sulpher fuel as an export model?

Yeah, I get heaps of looks and plenty of
Here is a pic of the inside (it's a mirror image). You can't really tell it was converted. The glove-box (inside) is slightly smaller and the pedals don't move, but the rest is good.
Unfortunately it has the DPF but heaps of people say get rid of it. Maybe one day ;-)
