I have a 96f350 with a dash piece that surrounds the gauges and the headlight **** runs trough and fuel selector switch is on. Not for sure what to call it? Instrument Panel cover? Anyways whoever had my truck installed one out of a NON diesel truck so the little electronic display for Wait to start and I believe CEL and WIF? whatever else is displayed on it I don't know I can't ever see it lol. Anyway does anyone know where I can buy a new or used in new condition one? Other than dealership (last.resort) I also need the electronic display as well because the one in my truck is partially broke. Thanks guys .. also looking for seats
Good luck. NPD (National Parts) has a few. Not sure they are exactly what you need. They are not cheap. Ebay, CL, junkyard Ect. are your best bet. However, most of them will be damaged or broken, s they are very brittle plastic. Its called an Instrument Cluster Bezel by the way.
Does the diesel indicator panel come off separately? I'm sure it does but I ain't ever worked on one. If so, you'll have to find a replacement for that too if going for new parts.
Personally I'd just go to the yard and see what they have. You can at least grab the diesel indicators if you don't find a bezel in good shape. Then when you go back next time, all you'll need is the bezel itself.
The gas engine bezel has a spot for these indicators too, it's just blanked out, so another thing you might look at is maybe using your existing one and cutting the indicator area out to the right shape. I doubt this would work (at least not that easily) since I'm almost certain the mounting screw bosses are not there on the gas engine bezel.

Yes the diesel indicator screen thingy mcbobber does come off separately. Held in by 2 screws just like the fuel tank selector switch. I ended up buying a used one from someone here in TN found it on Ebay $30. Mine was cracked and stuff from previous owner. As far as the bezel goes I bought a brand new one from LMC for about $200 but I'm happy with it, looks great.
I found one at Pick-n-Pull for $25. Went through 4 before I found one that was in good shape. Besides the clips breaking off it seems like no one notices the two screws behind the trim pieces and breaks that section out.
All the cluster bezels I found were for gassers, but about an hour with my dremel tool and I was able to cut out the blank for the diesel specific light panel. The plastic where the screws would go is there, just have to carefully drill it out for the screws. Mine turned out great and you can't tell by looking at the front that it's from a gasser truck. I'll try and post a pic when I get home
