I would like to add a trans temp gauge to my 03, problem I'm having is the grab handle is in the way of the pillar. So I was thinking about this...Hmm guess I can't copy and paste.
I'm looking at a single gauge pod for the steering column made by Autometer.
Thanks!
Ron
You must be talking about this one...
I was kinda curious about that one too, but I thought it might be more obtrusive than the instrument cluster bezel...
I could be wrong though. I don't know if there's a similar link for the steering column bezel, but here's one for the Instrument Cluster Bezel Install. But, then you have to get a second guage - decisions, decisions.
I put mine in the lower dash to the right of the steering wheel. I can see most of it through the wheel and shift lever. I wish I had a pic to show ya. For quick glances it works great!
Autometer sells the gauge pod that sits on the steering coloum. I bought mine thru Geno's garage. But I am sure you can get them thru Jeg's or Summit mail order.....
I installed the single pod a few weeks ago...looks great! The pod is on the right on the column, not the left like the above picture. Fit and finish is nice. I bought pod and gauge for JEGS.COM. I will try and get a picture.
From 2002 on the SD had trans gauge. The problem is the gauge is more of an idiot gauge than a calibrated instrument. The temp of the trans fluid can very a wide range and the factory gauge will not move. An aftermarket gauge will show the increase/decrease as it happens.
