Paint

I have looked over the forum but haven't been able to find any info on paint colors that were available for specific model years.
I'm a proud new owner of a 64 F250. I have grown tried of the blue color already. They must have painted 3/4 of these blue. Where can I find what was available from ford in 1964 before I decide on the final color for mine?
Also, at the risk of being spit at, What is the correct color paint scheme for the 223 engine? My engine and trans are GM Orange. seems to me I have never seen a Ford without blue on the engine. Any help appreciated.

Are you going to have your truck painted by someone else or do it yourself? If yourself do you have a paint supplier you work with? Mine has a bunch of books and he knows how to flip right to the page for each year/make of vehicle that I've asked him about. No guesswork involved and I can see the paint chips much better than on a computer display. I then make a choice and he mixes me a pint of that to go try and see if I like it.

This is a list to possibly try.

You can also google for 1964 Ford truck paint chips and get a PPG or
Ditzler listing, but like I say they are hard to see correctly on a computer display and can be faded or otherwise not so clear.

Original paint was acrylic enamel. COLOR code stamped on the 2nd line of the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.

If tu-toned, there will be two codes, example JM: J = Rangoon Red / M = Wimbledon White

1961/65 engines were painted black, excepting the valve cover(s). The valve cover(s) were painted specific colors as this was how FoMoCo identified engine sizes for garages/body shops.

Beginning in 1966, engines were painted Ford Corporate Blue, including the valve covers. Oil bath air cleaners were painted black.

Thanks again guys.
When the time comes, I'll be painting the truck myself. I was a good painter in a previous life but changed careers when you couldn't leave the spray booth with a buzz. All the fresh air requirements scared me off. Thanks for the engine color tips. You can see an awful lot of block with an I6 and the GM orange is driving me crazy.
