I wanna do some custom stuff to the door panels similar to this to match my grille along with covering the old school vinyl with suede or maybe king ranch leather......
I also plan on doing a king ranch interior but for like new condition seats I can spend close to 5 grand and I rather not. So while browsing the web I came across this leather and when you compare it picture to picture with a king ranch interior it almost looks identical.
King ranch interior
So I got some samples coming to test in person. If this is very close I will be wrapping the vinyl on the door panels with this leather. Then I will find some 08+ super duty seats with the solid consoles for front and back that are cloth I will then remove the cloth to get my templates for the leather and with my grandfather's leather sewing machine I will sew them up. I will also have "CENTURION" embroidered into the headrests or the centurion head inlaid in the leather, not sure yet.
Updating this thread just reminded me that I never got those samples of leather. Although apparently I didn't miss them as I've been so busy. Did a little front end work though.
Well it has been a year and a half since I last updated on this forum and the truck doesn't look the same any more lol! It now has a 2015 f150 bumper, 2015 f150 fender flares, black roof, no windshield light bar, 22x10's, new grille.
Truck is filthy in the pictures hopefully it will get a bath in the next few days and be put away for winter.
Things I'm planning on doing:
-Powdercoat wheels solid black (In the picture the machined area is half *** plastidipped just to see if I wanted solid black)
-1.75" spacers up front and 2.5" spacers out back
-Paint the windshield trim black
-Paint the door handles black/ptm
-Reclear headlights and do something with the marker lights
-Paint frame/undercarriage
-Custom bed cover to get rid of toolbox
And I'm sure some other things as it's an ongoing money sucking build lol!
A little bit more work has happened since the last post. I went ahead and plastidipped the chrome trim around the windshield along with the chrome window visors. I never put the cab lights on because I wasn't happy with the look so i decided to paint them and I think they turned out pretty decent. I might buy the clear version and redo them.
I also painted the corner and bumper lights in the same fashion to see if I would like it and I do so I will order some new lights and get them painted up. While I was there I went ahead and wet sanded and re-cleared the headlights to see if I can get another couple more years out of them before I have to replace the lenses. I'm really happy with how everything has turned out. Traction bars are next on the list along with some bed rail caps, lazerlite style bed cover and get the front fender flares painted body color.
