I have a 2000 Expedition that was running just fine. We filled the tank up with gas and as I left for work 2 hours later, I was going down the road and pressed the accelerator and the rpm's dropped. I let my foot off the gas and the rpm's went back up. I tried to press the gas again and the same thing. I coasted off to the side of the road and the expo just died. Towed it home and now it may start, run for a few seconds and dies. I hear the fuel pump, was told the starter is fine, someone told me it could possibly be the key but then after hearing it start up they said it was not the key.
It could still be the fuel pump. Just because it runs doesn't mean it's pumping out the required PSI. The only way to confirm is to connect a fuel pressure gauge to it and see what it reads.
The battery and alternator have been checked and both are good. I got a Fuel Pressure tester and at both the fuel injectors and fuel filter it registers at 0. However, I left the line open and turned the car to "on" and fuel comes out slowly but only for a second or 2.

I had to change mines after getting some Gunky Gas @Flashfood(Neverbuyingthere) but its your fuel pump, You can whack the top of the fuel pump to run a few more weeks, Mine lasted 3 weeks before dying again. I Bought mines from AutoZone, 50 bucks and that's all
PS:I didn't have to take the gas tank off, just rised the air suspension all the way up
I would say fuel pump as it is a common bug in these trucks. I replaced mine with one from o'Reilly's (Better quality) along with a high flow filter. Autozone parts are just not too dependable, believe me, I've worked there.
I pulled the gas fill hose off the tank and used a transfer pump to pump all the fuel out of the tank. Takes a while but with the price of gas it's worth saving it Make sure to replace the fuel filter also if you haven't already.
