91 F150 tachometer fixed itself???
But today, I start up the old beast for the drive to work, and I noticed it reading 1500 RPM for the initial start up, then it dropped to 1000 for normal idle, then it fluctuated between 1000 and 2500 for driving and shifting. My current schedule has me doing a lot of driving, so multiple times in a day, my truck is being started and stopped.
I'm not so much complaining that my tach now works, but I can't figure out why it would just fix itself like that. I haven't done any recent work to my truck- electrical or otherwise. What concerns me is that this may be a sign of a potential short- but I'm not familiar enough w/ the tach circuitry to know what it would indicate.
Just looking for some insight as to why it would happen. Thanks.
