Start searching. Lots of info on here and your topic has been covered many times.
(Getting your thread back to top also.... But start searching and post what you find here and we will help you from there)
Explorer heads
Pacesetter headers (summit)
No cold air intake or chip
Cam swap
Good quality wires, coil and complete tuneup
3" single exhaust max or dual 2-2.25 (dual 2.5 if its a 351)
Maybe even a 351 swap
Hanes manuals suck badly..Chiltons is better but if you want the best search Ebay for Ford service manuals.
Your '96 is OBD-2 MAF so it won't need much extra to produce healthy gains, those heads and maybe a Comp XE264HR and you'll see lots more topend power though be prepared to lose a little off the bottom, gears will bring all that back though.
