cummins swap transfer case

I am gathering parts to swap a cummins into my 78 f150 i have the stock dodge 241dhd but im worried about offroading with the slip yoke..i jave 6 in deaver rear springs with a shackle flip...i read about the ford 271tcase what trucks come with this case?

What trans is with the cummins? Its possible to swap in a ford np 205 if you have a round 6 bolt pattern 29 spline trans.
