I have a 97 F150 4.6
the a/c compressor has locked up
I got a new compressor/accumulator
and orface tube. I'm wondering about
what appears to be a filter in the
hose from the compressor to the
condenser. Is it a filter ? Do I need
to replace it?
Ok hope you can give me some tips
on getting the compressor out of the
little space it's in. Or will I neen to
remove things to get it out
I think that what you're talking about is a filter but I dont have a truck here right now to look at to be sure. If any junk from the compressor went through the system (you should be able to tell by looking at the orifice tube) I would replace it just to be on the safe side.
To get the compressor out you will have to go from under the truck. It probably wont be as bad to remove as it looks like it will be One or 2 of the long bolts have to come out and go in with the compressor. They wont clear the frame otherwise.
