Question door panel

I have a '97 F150 single cab that I need to know how to take off the door panel. I need to replace my side mirrors and the speaker on the drivers' side.. I have searched high and low, and can find only instructions for every vehicle except mine. If anybody knows how or knows where I can find some instructions, please help...

Funny thing, I was looking for the same answer and ended up finding it on my own. On my newer truch the have positioned at least two screws on the panel itself and the unlike most conventional car or truck panel, there aren't the push-in/ op-out clips. When you remove the screws, you will need to lift the panel up and then pull out. They are hooked at a downward angle, if you yank and crank on the panel you may end up breaking your hooks. Hope it helps.

ya, david brady is right for the most part. The two "screws" are for the window crank (if it is manual) and the door handle itself. There are also two little pop out clips that broke for me when I took mine off. They are at the top part of the door panel on the left and right sides. And like david says, just lift up and pull out. The whole panel will just come off.

Talking door panel

Did some magic. I don't think anyone would mind, being helpful people that we are, and converted the info an pics to a Microsoft Word document. Those who have Microsoft Office can open it. Just shoot me an email if you're interested and I'll send you a personal copy. If not yu'll have to register to another site to see the complete instructions. This offer is open to any registered member FTE.

Cool door panel

Well, we have come full circle. I'm not sure which '97-type vehicles ya'll have, but using your information (thank you very much) I was able to figure it out.

First take off the triangular panel on the forward panel, then the part lining the back part of the window. They simply pull right off.

There is one of those clippy things that you push in the button, and pull it out on the panel.

Pull up on the door handle, reach behind their with your index finger, and push out the circular little trap door thingie. Unbolt the handle through that hole.

Lift up, and pull out.

Now if your entire truck runs on random electronic gadgets like mine, the panel will not come off so that you can just put it anywhere. I just pulled it off, and let it hang there. ..and now my mirrors won't work, so maybe that was wrong to do, but everything else works fine.. I'd say it was me replacing the mirror that did it, but I only replaced one, and neither work, so..

Thank you all who gave advice...here's what I learned. ..more to come, I'm sure.

Thanks for letting us know how it went
The connector pulls off the mirror control quite easily sometimes so might want to check that.
