I started the build on my doors this weekend. All parts were purchased from midfifty. I went with their one piece window kit, power window kit, Altmans bearclaw kit, and their power dower lock kit.
My question is does anyone have pics or a step-by-step process as to how they installed their power door lock set up? The kit comes with a bracket and a 1/8" steel bar for both doors. Any help would be appreciated.
Parts by Part Number from Midfifty
Power Door Locks: 3239
Power Windows: 1740-ex
Bearclaw Latches: 1109
I put in power door locks, but I modified the 56 latches so I could use the stock outside handles and keylocks if I desired as well as Miata recessed inside handles with built in lock levers. I documented the latch mods and solenoid install in one of my photo galleries.
I like the miata handles. I might do something like that sine there is no locking **** on the door.
I do too I mounted mine a little proud of the door surface to allow room for upholstered panels. The handles and the locks work very well. I also put in power windows so I could eliminate the inside window cranks.
