My 2001 Ranger 4x4 A/C is not working at all. It does not engage / cycle at all. I took the wires that lead into the a/c compressor and put a meter on them and it came up 0, no juice. Now, the truck was in an accident about three months ago that may have caused a leak (got hit in the rear side though - not sure how that would cause it to leak) and a buddy said to check for a leak and then charge it - theory being the low pressure switch is cutting any juice to the compressor. Does this make sense? My theory is Im still under warrenty and should just bring it to the dealership. Any help is appreciated
If Its under warranty with none of those hiden got ya clause's like A/C fist 100 miles only you cannt lose with free proffesonal work.
if not go to the fuse box first and after vdrfieng no tproblem there you can jumper the low presure switch and if the compressor engages you are in the low charge/ no charge zone. have it leak tested, repaired and recharged. check out the other posts and the board at http://www.aircondition.com/ for the how too.
