Blade, or electric....

I have experimented over the past few years. So far for best shave I like the TracII types for closest shaves.

When I get lazy the electrics come out. I have a Norelco, a Gillette Microscreen and a Braun Microscreen type. Of the 3 electrics the Gillette shaves me the best. But it helps a lot if I pull my skin tight while using it. The Norelco does OK but at first kind of irritates the skin. The Braun is a bit like the Gillette but I don't get as good a shve with it as the Gillette.

I also tried one of those new 3 blade razors but can't really feel a difference from the TracII types and the blades are expensive and the feel is a bit clumsy so I will stick with TracII types. I also tried out the unlces old double edge safety razor and it doesn't do as well as the trac II and it is more prone to cut or scrape the skin bloddy. I used the uncles old single edge "injector" type razor and it has pretty good shaves and is less prone to cut.

So long winded... I would use the TracII for a good close shave, and the Gillette for a decent electric shave on the fly. The others I use just out of curiosity or just because they are handy.

Blade, or electric....

Use both here. Electric when I'm pressed for time and the blade if I've got time to do it right, electric trimmer for the goatee always. Of course, when camping or hunting shaving interfers with important business matters ( , , , ) so it's not allowed.

Mostly i just use a good ole Blade, the electric never seems to get everything as short as i'd like it. I basically use the Electric just for trimming up and things.

Blade, or electric....

Gillette sent me a free MachIII and can of shaving cream for my 18th birthday, so that's what I use. May go back to the generic blades after the MachIII gets dull, hard to justify spending $8.00 on a pack of refills when you can get 10 generic razors for $4.00. Or maybe not, the MachIII IS nice. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. (It'll probably depend on how much money I have in my pocket at the time :-)

grandfather was a barber, he taught me to use a extremely sharp staight razor, and a leather strap to sharpen it.

Gilette Sensor XL. I like it a lot better than the Mach 3. Tried an electric, a Remington Microscreen. That thing sucks.

Blade, or electric....

Hi,

Electrics make too much of a mess. They leave a dark dust on my face that won't wash off for at least 2 hours.

When I'm home I use a Gillette Sensor Excel. On training exercises and when deployed (Like now) I use Gillette Good News Disposables since I can buy a lot at once. I have to use a new blade every day or it won't cut the stubble. (I came overseas with 90 razors with me).

A blade and water's all I need (Preferrably hot but not always). Gave up on shaving cream back in Basic Training in '97...even at home.

Funny thing is, I'm sitting here in front of my computer checking the messages from last night and shaving out of my canteen cup right now (Though I put down the razor to type).

Edge and Mach III. Used to use electric, but didn't work too hot.

Yeah the turbo is nice but so expensive I can't really justify its use. Now I just use the regular Mach III with edge clean gel, good stuff and no scent so I can still use a little aftershave when I want to smell decent, the aftershave is Adidas Moves.
