knock sensor problems

okay well, it happened my knock sensor failed, and ya know i said it as i was re-installing it, "damn things gonna fail after i get all this done, just because i cant find a new one" aaaaaaaaand it did, so im wondering is there any solution to this problem? has anyone modded another knock sensor to fit?, is there a way to trick the ECM into thinking its there? does anyone know the specs of this knock sensor E3AF-12A699-A? im really not to happy to slap a used one in, id really prefer it to be new i can get a new one for a straight 6 motor but not for the 5.0
i pulled a code 25, i only decided to check for codes because it feels a bit hinky at about 3000-4000 rpm like it stops pulling, when i saw the code 25, i knew what was up, its retarding the timing because it cant find the knock sensor

i cant hear any pinging, i have a cherry bomb extreme on it so i cant hear much of anything lol, when i open up the hood it sounds really smooth under acceleration it sounds smooth too, i use to get pinging at high rpm, about a year and a half ago before i rebuilt the dizzy after i did it stopped, as a crude reference it sounds like someone clacking two stones together correct?

There is no reason why the part for the 300 won't work. Knock sensors are basically low impedance microphones. Detonation (ping) sends vibrations through the engine and the knock sensor generates a low frequency voltage that gets sent back to the ECM. They just thread into the block. Even if the one for the 300 has a different thread pitch or post diameter, you can easily adapt it. as long as the sensor is solidly attached to the block so that the vibrations caused by detonation will cause the sensor to do its job, you should be fine.
