Suspension question

Is the front suspension on a 351W F-250 the same as the suspension on a 460/diesel F-250, can it handle all the same weight?

The beefiest axle in that truck was the TTB Dana50. You may have that axle, but if I'm not mistaken you could also have an HD TTB Dana44 (a little lighter duty). The differential housing should have either "44" or "50" stamped on the rear side of it.

I would imagine the diesels had a heavier spring up front than the gassers.

Posting the front axle code or google searching it could be revealing too.

There are so many variables that effect a vehicles GVWR that it's impossible to accurately answer your question. Spring rates, transmission, engine, gear ratios and axles all effect how much your truck was rated to safely tow.

If I was you I would simply look at my door sticker

I'm not sure if it's still there... Better look for it... But I was just wondering if I (some day) dropped in a big block or a diesel if I'd need to put stiffer springs + axle.

Even if you have the Dana 44 you wont have any issues. Theres some local truck pull guys that still run factory D44s behind there 7.3s without issue.
