Pressed into service

I like to use my '37 for drying and storing the lumber we use in our projects. The '92 f350 does a better job going to the mainland to pick up the material, but when I get home I need it cleared off for daily use. The '37 gets fired up and is currently out in my sunny field with the load of 3" floor joists and 2 1/2" redwood wine tank parts. When the rain sets in again (soon) I'll park it in it's shed and the lumber will continue to dry. When it's time to send it through the planer, we just back up to it. The truck also gets used the same way at our sawmill. I am always careful not to leave it in the rain, as I don't want to lose the nice layer of dust it had on it when I pulled it from a barn where it had sat for 26 years. Later 8ba flathead, but otherwise stock. I have a script 9' stakebed I plan to install next winter.

It's my cummins powered '59 F350 9' flareside pickup that I built from parts. Look up 'kinda like a hot rod, but it isn't hot' on the 57-60 forum. This cummins isn't the powerhouse 6bt like a dodge, it's a 120 hp 6 cyl turbo originally used in onan gensets, but cummins produced an automotive version for fleet use in the late 80s and many ups and frito lay trucks got them. All 3 of mine came from ups trucks. Called a 6at. Youtube ''59 f350 with cummins 6at' and thats me and enjoy that turbo whine as I spool it up. I made the straight pipe from about 6 pieces of old exhaust pipe laying in a corner of the shop.
