A couple months ago i sold my 89 7.3 for a 92 7.3 with a ats and im having white smoke on start up and smoke a bit after. i replaced all glow pugs with the ZD9. I try to smell it doesnt smell like rich raw fuel BUT it has a hint of fuel. I was afraid of cavitation cause it has black stuff in overfill tank but i took that out and it not a liquid (believe its paint newer rad). I do have pressure in my rad when i start it with the cap off but i have no bubbles and i Remember my 89 did that to and over the months ive lost no coolant. So what im trying to get at is this normal for a N/A with aftermarket turbo to does this if the person who put the turbo on never turn up the ip or is it an injector? I did notice a tick coming from drivers side
probably the injectors.when mine were old they smoked white a lot at startup.in warm weather, you shouldn't even see white smoke with easy good working glow plug starts.
a hint of fuel in the exhaust is unburnt fuel.for the price of idi injectors,it's cheaper to replace them than run worn out ones,in little time.
i grabbed my factory stanadyne turbo G codes from here: http://www.usdieselparts.com/index.c...9l-73l-idi.cfm
thats what i thought. yesterday when i was driving to work i floored it and noticed a good amount of white smoke??? Truck was warmed to?? Ive had nothing but diesels (6.2 and 7.3) and never saw white smoke after warm up??
I know Gs are turbo and emissions and BBs are power right? But i dnt want to replace Injectors till i get a Injection pump. I know they make a Turbo model DB2 with a torque screw but is the turbo model spec for a turbo? Do the Gs make a higher pop spray for the turbo pressure? sorry bout hundred questions im trying to get as much info so when i tear into the top of it i get a smooth running IDI
