stupid question but I have to know

When installing my coolant filter, I noticed that a few of the hoses ended up resting on parts of the wire harness. Is it bad for them to be touching the wires once the coolant heats up? I haven't had a problem in months but I'm going on a long drive soon and this was just something that came to mind.

it shouldnt effect it much.. if your truly worries about it then get some wire shielding and wrap the wires in your engine bay.. cheep and will keep anything from nawing on them also.. .(rodents) i am an aircraft electrician and its a gangle mess sometimes.. i would shoot for .50" clearance.. that is aircraft standard and it seems to work for birds so i did it to my truck.. didnt notice a diff, but the fact they are safer makes me more sound when driving... if you know what "P" clamps are run those and tuck the harness away from adjacent and parallel items..

Mine didn't contact any wiring when installed but I wouldn't allow the coolant lines to rest on top of the wire, potentially streching it with the weight and vibration and creating some electrical havoc.

Thanks, I think it should be ok. I'll probably just leave it alone.

None of the wires are stretched. Its back in the heater core area. In fact, the coolant hoses might have been on the wires from the factory, I just can't remember how it was.
