That looks fantastic! I would have bought a blacked out truck if available. Time to dust off the hvlp and get some new paint. Thanks for the motivation!
Would love to see pics when it's all reassembled. Plastidip holds up really well, the beauty of it too, is it just rubs off if you don't like it! The tuner guys love using it on their cars, and I've used it on my Audi back when I had it
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? I couldn't resist after seeing the pics of yours, I did the side badges on my truck. They popped apart in 3 pieces making quick work of it.
It turned out awesome in my opinion:
Once you get the emblem off (takes 2 seconds, just pull), I used the set below from Harbor Freight to pry the tabs and separate the F350 piece and outer chrome ring from the main piece.
If you have the time and patience, I'd imagine it wouldn't be too difficult.
The F350 piece separates from the main piece, as does the outer "ring" that has "Lariat" and "Superduty" on it. You'd just have to tape it meticulously, which is a trait I lack.
That looks sharp. I need to look up some videos on removing the grill.
You remove the top 4 10mm fasteners, pull slightly toward you at the top and then push down on the retaining clips at the bottom with a flat blade screw driver. It's not even 5 minutes once you know what you are doing. Here is Epic's super awesome (as usual) video. I miss him hanging around here
