I have an 86 F150 4WD 4.9L maual with 3 speed.
After a rebuilt engine was put into the thing, I lost my cruise control linkage. I have the vacuum actuator, lines, and the bead cable, but no linkage to the carb. I called a Ford dealer, and they don't offer the part anymore (they wanted to sell me the entire line).
Does anyone know a good place to get a connector from the cable to the carb?
Also, how difficult is it to hook up? Is there somewhere I can look for a little help on setting the thing up? I have the Haynes manual, and they say that the cruise should be connected by a professional mechanic, as it is dangerous and diffiuclt. But, assuming I have all the correct vacuum lines and electrical connections, is there a way to just jury the cable to the throttle?
