Hello all and thanks in advance. I recently bought a 2008 F350 cab and chassis with a v10. Sometime this summer it will get a 12v cummins so I am preparing. I know I want a 2.5-3.5 inch leveling kit but I'm trying to decide if I want to use spacers or replacement coils. I also need springs that will hold up to my 12v cummins, a moose masher, a heavy flatbed and plenty of other add-ons. My spring code is cchh with a 6000 front gvw and a 7500 rear gvw. Does anyone know a list of the coil spring codes and what what they are rated? I also would be interested in the ratings on the rear.
Thanks again, Ross
Ford sells 6.5k and 7k coil springs over the counter, they came on some f450/550s. I run a 6.0 cast iron pig and a full front end replacement with a front axle weight of almost 5k and my stock 6k coils are absolutely fine. Almost too stiff still, they're stout.
But the D60 is still a 6k axle and nothing will fix that on paper. Plus anything taller than 3" of lift I going to start needing radius arm brackets to fix caster angle, plus supporting steering changes, you can't just shove 3.5" spacers in. Find 4" lift springs from a diesel lift kit to get the height, heavier stock springs will reduce sag Under load mainly, lift height from them is incidental.
