ford help plz

well i have been doing some searching and have found an 03 ford f250 sd 4x4 ex-cab with the 5.4l v8 has 230,000. miles the guy just got a meyers 7.6 poly plow last year for the truck also he says there is a miss or a miss fire he looked at the coils and that was as fare as he went i am hoping that wouldnt be a deal breaker for me he still pushed snow with the miss last yr.He is wanting about 5k for it i looked at all the pic he sent me the only thing i am seeing is a dent in the lower drivers rear door. i was told not to get a meyers plow for the have issues at times and also i am not sure if this would be a good truck? i am also planing on useing it to pull a lawncare buss, any opions? i can get a western plow right now complete for around 600.00

I looked and looked for an f150 and eventually found a mechanically sound 2002 f350 5.4l auto v8 w/ manual on the floor 4x4. 4.10 gears, heavy springs all around, western plow hitch on front w/ wiring and controls, trailer hitch w/ all wiring etc. With 117k miles for $4000, after seeing the rotted bed and dents and rust I picked her up for $2,600.
Soon I will need to make a floor for the bed, totally rotted out, but the bed supports are not rotted so I am thinking wood....
My point is, is my truck a little rusty, hell yeah. Do I drive it to go fishing on the beach and not have to care about resale value, hell yeah! Do I care if some of the shingles I am loading up scratch the side of the bed, not so much....
My main concerns would be engine, tranny, drivetrain and front end issues. The other stuff unless you are using a pickup truck to get girls, is all cosmetic. Find something that is mechanically sound and save until you can buy new.

well after every ones advice i have looked more and harder and have found 3 good picks all are 99 f250 SD all are Excab. 1st has 3"lift black excab V10 with 160k milage i can get for around 6500. very clean body only rust is in the bed Female owned xlt pack 1 hour drive away... 2nd is a white 5.4V8 with 102k miles both are short beds.. 4"lift i beleave is the Harley Davis edition comes with custom remote tano cover and custom winch in the bed and cattle bar in front only rust is small spot on cab corners 22yr old ownes but still owes 4500. to bank but wll sell for 7K 3 hours drive . 3rd tan is xlt pack body has 228k miles trany rebuilt just under 100k miles on it motor replaced with used has 93K miles on it body and inside very good shape No rust and long bed owner is an ASE cert mech 1.5 hours drive i will be looking at the tan one friday and black one on sunday not sure about the white one so any ideas on if it was you looking.. and some one told me the V10 sould do me better fo plowing and pulling a lawn trailer. so let me know thank you..
