Bell housing bolt pattern

I have a C6 transmission that came out of a 78 F100 with a 300 inline 6. I have a 65 F100 with a 240 inline 6. From what I understand the two engines have very minor differences. My question is do they have the same bell housing bolt pattern and will this transmission mount to my 240?

Simple answer: Yes.
From the outside the engines are the same.

Your 240 will not like the C6. Locate a C4.

The C6 takes way to much power to operate over the C4

Agree with going with a c4, may have problems with c6 converter/ flex plate matching. C6 bell housing is much deeper requiring a taller converter.
