So I bought a 2004 F150 XLT 4.6l V8 from carmax about a year ago. I am no expert by any means but I noticed that the wheel wells for the front tires are different than the ones for the back. The wheel wells in the back are lined with plastic and the fronts are lined with nothing.
I took it to Ford to ask them about it and they said that my truck has the engine and cabin of an XLT, but the bed is off a FX4.
I have a meeting at Carmax about this. What are some questions that I should ask, a few things come to mind like:
Did my value drop because my truck is pieced together?
Did this truck actually get into a wreck and know one reported it or claimed it?
I like my truck a lot, its nothing special but it gets the job done. I just want to make sure that what I am paying for is a fair value. Please help!
I would imagine that since its a year later you are stuck with what you got. I would run a car fax on it and see what you get. maybe carmax will be helpful, but I would show up with evidence
