I know this discussion has been covered here on front end popping sounds, but when I searched for posts about it I only found post from people with 4X4's with the problem. I was riding in the passenger side of our 1999 F-250 4X2 the other day when I noticed that the right front wheel pops when it is turned when going slow. As I said I already searched for info but I didn't find any posts saying this was a problem on 4X2's also. If anyone could give me any info or a keyword to search for I'd appreciate it!
Hey well i know on my truck the poping sounds is the t-bar. I got a lift and in the instructions it says that if i dont put the bigger bolt in it instead of the factory one it could cause a poping noise. It never did it when my truck was stock. I tried just tighting it and it helped for a lil bit but then i guess it went back to normal after that cause it still makes the noise
i have a '03 F250 Crew that has the "pop" underneath the passenger side since the day I brought it home. The dealer hasn't been able to diagonosis it...they act like it is the first one that has been in for that problem....at first it was doing it when i was slowing moving forward and making a right turn, now, it does it when I'm not moving, sounds like someone punched the floor from underneath...
Some time back I posted to a pop coming from the passenger floor board area on my '99 F-250SD CC. I had it into the Ford dealer 3 times within 6 weeks. On the 4th time in, I told the dealer that I wanted the truck replaced on the lemon law, because I had less that 10,000 miles on the truck and it wasn't 4 months old yet and they couldn't find the noise The dealership called the engineers. The dealership was told to check all the mounting points for cab to frame. They found a broken spot weld on the pad mounting point under the passenger floor board.
The Ford dealership welded the broken one back and then went ahead and added extra welds on all the other mounting positions. That was 3 1/2 years ago and I haven't had the problem since.
I would suggest that you ask the dealership to check all the cab to frame mounting points for broken welds. This may not be the problem, but it is a place to start.
well i know for sure on my truck the poping sound is the traction bar cause it never poped till i lifted it and it said if i dont driil out the t bar and put the bigger bolt in it that it would pop.
