I know these have most likely been discussed before but I need some help with my 2002 f250 5.4. I have been noticed the past few days my trans temp gauge is not going all the way down to cold. even on a cold start the needle is about a quarter the way up I would guess around the 50-100 degree mark? is this normal? never took notice until now. also went to use my cruise control and it did not work. no light displays when you press on. I has worked in the past. I have had the update done with the extension harness. I started to trouble shoot this alittle tonight and found the 2amp fuse blown and the switch on the master cylinder leaking. the tag on the harness states to to replace with yada yada part # if harness is damaged or fuse is blown. do I need to do this or can I just get the new fuse and switch. thanks so much for your time. any help would be great.

 

The leaking CC switch mounting on the master cylinder was subject to a recall some time ago---its a known issue. I believe regardless of your warranty status Ford will replace this for you free but only in one of their service facilities.

The part number for an '03 E-Series is: 1L1Z-9F924-AA which is probably the same for your F-Series. If not, it will get you close to something for cross reference.

The blown fuse probably was due the leak---just replace it after the switch issue has been resolved.

Not sure about your trans temp gauge but sounds like its failing, perhaps the sensor but I don't have any experience in this area.
