My dad, brothers and I were helping a friend move with our 2V V10 and a 16ft flatbed trailer. It wasn't running quite tip-top. Didn't want to go 45-60MPH in Overdrive.
My dad thinks it's an injector ticking, as the sound seems to be most loud on the driver side fuel rail.
My question is... Will any damage be caused if the injector fails?
Has anybody ever had an injector ticking?
Gonna try the "marvel magic mystery oil" and see if this helps.
I've checked 9 of the plugs(replaced all myself). All tight. The 10th one is under all the &$@% A/C hoses. I took a piece of copper pipe and listened to all 10 injectors. They sounded somewhat normal to each other. I'll try listening to the spark plugs and see if I hear anything.
I know you guys are really tired of ticking threads. But we're gonna be pulling our 33ft 5th wheel next year to the Tetons and Yellowstone. Not a place you wanna be pulling a trailer on 9 cylinders.
