Ringing front drive shaft

Was driving down the road with the windows wide open cause it was a great afternoon, and hit a couple bad bumps and hear a ringing, clanging sound from under the truck. Got it home and went under with the creeper and stated to ck things out. for some reason I happened to turn the front drive shaft and sure enough there is something rolling around in there. Any of our dealer guys hear of this? The only way I know to fix this is either cut the shaft open or replace it

Are you sure it's not from the slip-joint?

Yep, you can turn it and hear it rollin around in there. That shaft set up is about $ 350.00 shipped

Possible when the end where being welded on the shaft something fell inside. Maybe some slag. If it really bugs you I would take it to a drive shaft shop and have them cut off an end and see what's inside and re-weld the end on. Probably be cheaper.
