Took this picture today in Custer, SD by a grocery store with a mural painting of the Black Hills. I had over 400 gallons in there, it didn't squat the Mule to bad, LOL. I don't think the Mule likes it new job of hauling water but my well is going south. Its pumping a lot of fine red dirt thats clogging my filters.
Ahhhh the mule...poor guy...he still is working it for sure! and looking good doing it!
What you do about well? Drill a new deeper one?
Its funny how we think of the PSD's as people, cracks me up. The well, I don't know, maybe pull it up a little, if there is enough water down there to do that, its 400 feet deep. Or, maybe just run the heck out of it and flush it out good. In the mean time, I don't want that fine red dirt in the camper.
Thanks guys. Aaron, my well here is deep I suppose because I'm in the Black Hills. It's only a 4" casing so don't know about drilling it out some more. Its been here sense we bought the place in the late 70's and has always worked good. It might just be lack of use causing it to fill in but I do know it will cost a arm and a leg to have it worked on.
Funny story, my first 5er was a small 27 footer and pulled it up here with a 91 F150 with a 5.8 in it. The well quit all together and had a outfit come a pull it. Standing around BSing these guys told me my best bet would be to get a 7.3 and told me the OBS years to look for. So I started doing my research and ended up with the Mule. That was almost ten years ago and they gave me good advise.
Yea they did, that was great advice! My dad found this one for me, I really didn't know what I was looking for. Just starting a carpentry business and needed a truck. He found a good one!
Glenn, if the mule doesn't like her new job, tell her to come on down here to WV, and she can live out the rest of her days taking it easy and just cruising around looking good! I'll treat her good! LOL!

I didn't know what I was looking for either but didn't like the 5mpg the 5.8 got, LOL

You got a nice pasture with little puddles of diesel so the old mule can roam and feed Bill, LOL
My aunts well is 250 deep...the water table is 3' down..the pump draws maybe 20' down...why its so deep makes no sence?
Yea...mule,mare,clifford...who else iis out there w a named person/truck?
I bet they had to drill that deep to get water, and there is enough pressure to raise the water to that level. Around my part of the country, if you drill to 1200-1500 ft. you can get water that comes out of the ground at 110-130 degrees, and will come out of the casing at around a 100 gals per minute, all from ground pressure.
