Decoding '73-'79 Ford Truck VIN Tags - FORDification.net

I was my understanding of the general consensus of the posters here is that ford did not offer a 460 in 79?? The above to websites show that they did indeed offer the 460 in that year. Who or what says otherwise?
As was told to you, you could not get a 460 with a 4x4 in 79. The sites you posted do not say you could? Yes, you could get a 460, IN a 2wd. Like they told you, share your vin and someone can tell you what it had stock.
when that comes up,mostly it is in reference that Ford did not offer the 460 in front of a manual trans till 83,or dealing with internal balanced 460 vs external balanced 460,as well as head choice,,,,,thank the Lord for the Big Block Ford...

I appreciate you efforts in helping me decode my personal vin, but your help is not needed. As I have found a vin decoder website and can do this myself. The purpose of this thread is to discuss the fact that ford offered a 460 in the 79 f series truck line.

C6 was literally the only transmission for it before 83. Well maybe another auto but it NEVER EVER had a manual til 83. And we want the vin to see what's up mostly. Also, see my post in your other thread.

Apparently you already know all the answers, so why bother asking questions?

I own a shop, and know with a vin and some 'paper work' someone will ill intent can put a lien on this truck. Hell for the vin numbers that have been available to me I can put mechanics liens on those trucks. This very thing happened to a friend of mine with his classic mustang.. So sorry I will not be posting my full vin number. Which btw stays on this website where anyone at anytime can do whatever with it. The thread I was referencing that started this whole mess was started in 2008 and the vins on those trucks were still available.
What of the "a" code engine the vin decoder web site references?
A code was only used in E-series vans to designate a 460, not an F-series. Forget about what websites are telling you. My information comes from the books and 30+ years of messing around with these trucks.

I did not ask for help Decoding the vin. I asked what was up with the discrepancy between those who said ford did not offer a 460 in the 79 f series truck, and the Ford DECODING Website, it referenced in the OP that shows "A" engine codes as being the 460 in 1979.
Then someone pointed out it was available in the 2x4 truck, but not the 4x4. To which I have not had a chance to verify my vin or that fact yet.
