i would like to know what the easiest way to put a little more stiffness in the rear of my 03 swb 4x4. i pull a 12x6 trailer and want a little help in the back.
When you say "stiffness", I'm not sure what you're looking for.
You can put on better shocks, an anti-sway bar, or helper springs (metal or air bag). You can also use a load equalizing hitch or trailer sway control.
Air Bags or add a leaf is about the only options. I pull a 7X24' car trailer without any problems. When loaded, it weighs around 5500lbs at times. I had done nothing to my truck. The tow package came with heavy duty shocks I think.

You really cannot add weight capacity by adding airbags, because weight capacity is limited by many parts and you cannot know which part is the limiting factor. These days, there is very little or no safety factor and you really take a chance in exceeding the factory specified GVWR, payload, or tow rating.
You can, however, level your truck with air bags. I have Firestone "Sport Rite" air bags with an automatic level control, which I can recommend.
