My best friend has a 2000 E150. automatic, 5.4 with front and rear AC. He is trying to find the location of the orifice tube. Does anyone know where it is located? maybe a pic of the location? he has looked all over and just can't seem to find it. He knows it has to be between the condenser and evap but none of the small / liquid / high pressure side lines have the "necked down area everyone seems to talk about.
It is in the connection where the line from the condenser connects to the evaporator. There is no "necked down" area. The orifice tube fits inside the line.
I have the new orifice tube. It is sort of cone shaped and about 4 inches long. It has 2 green o-rings on it. what do the o-rings seal against if the line does not have a necked down section? also do you happen to have a pic of the area? Thanks so much.
I found the orifice tube.. it is in the liquid line / small line , right over the evap "black box" passenger side of the hood area. next to the blower. it is a nut type connection. right where the gold colored line from the condenser connects to the silver line of the evap coil. hope this helps others..
