Need a heavy duty crankshaft for your flattie. This is displayed outside the Caterpillar dealer in West Columbia SC.

Don't have any idea what it goes in. Definately eight cylinder. Has a main bearing between every rod.

There were engines I use to work around the natural gas pipeline business that were the size of semi trailers. These are natural gas burning engines that they use to pressurize the natural gas in the pipeline to relay it up the line to the next station. The cylinders and crankcase were considered "confined space entry", meaning they were large enough for someone to fit into (think cylinders were close to 3ft)... I wish I had a picture of a connecting rod.. They were 6ft easy

Cat makes some huge diesels for generators......similar to loco engines, local hospital has one.

I was at the metal scrapyard once, they had a V16 diesel engine block there you could stick your head and shoulders inside the bore.....
Makes our old flatheads look kinda like a toy.

For its size, it seems to have a fairly short stroke. Just an observation.
