8101610 Panel Assy. (Dash)

Dear Fellow Fat-Fendered Ford Enthusiasts,

Does anyone know the complete part number for the dash panel on a 1951 F1 truck? None of the dash panels for F-Series trucks are listed in the 1944-1952 Ford Body Parts catalog. Based on the 01610 Body Group Number and C81A Body Type Number for this truck my prediction is the part number should be something like "7C 8101610" but I am unable to find it anywhere on Google or in the catalog.

Regards,

Rusty Horse

Looking through my catalog with the group number you gave, it only shows car dashes, which were removable from the body assembly. Since the truck dash was a welded in and integral part of the cowl structure, it may not have been serviced separately, so a number for that specific piece wouldn't be available. Any particular reason why you need that number? Are you looking for an NOS dash? Or do you need a dash because yours is damaged or rusted? Good, used pieces are available from people parting out trucks, if that would help.

I have a dash from a 52 (same as a 51) that I can cut out for you if you need one.

52 Merc,

Thank you for your insight about the difference between dash panels in Ford cars and trucks. I will research the Ford Body Parts Catalog a little bit more. I need the part number to obtain an engineering drawing from the Benson Ford Research Center. I will use the drawing to determine which holes in my dash I need to seal to get back to original specification.

51PanelMan,

Thank you for the offer. My first course of action will be to restore my current dash panel. I will keep your offer in mind however.

52 Merc,

Lo and behold, I think you are right. The part I am looking for might be "1C 8100120-B" later replaced by "2C 8100120-A". I found it on p.21 listed under Body Group Number 00120 "Front Assy. (Body)" as "L.H.D. -includes roof panel". I will try to get my engineering drawing now.

Thanks for your help!

Rusty

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.
