I just found this online. I'm not sure if i am the first person to post this up...but this guy is one of the most talented people i know. Check these out.
I installed projectors in mine, my install was no where near the work of art that his is, but it is effective. HID projectors are a HUGE improvement over stock and well worth the money IMHO.
The projectors, ballasts and bulbs run about $400 for a top of the line set.
B&L - did you take the epoxy in the Ford bowls approach? What are your thoughts on that approach? Any regrets or learnings to share?
I didn't go the epoxy route. I essentially bolted them to the Ford bowl using the OEM mounting points on the projector housings. I think it worked well and left them adjustable if need be. The downside is that you can't get the projectors as far back into the bowl and the install isn't as clean. I sealed them up using hard but flexible/removable silicone to keep out any moisture and prevent anything from coming loose.
The toughest part is getting the housings apart. Lots of heat, small steps, and patience. The rest is painstaking, but actually quite simple. Measure twice cut once as they say. Just like anything, once you've done it once the next time is a lot easier, if I was to do it again it would take 1/4 of the time and be a cleaner install. There is a learning curve and some trial and error involved. Pay close attention to the left/right alignment and aim, that can't be adjusted with the OEM adjustments, and is critical for best results.
I'm very happy with the results, the FXR projector kit I bought from The Retrofit Source provides great light output and has a nice clean low beam cutoff. The wiring harness was simple plug and play, which is nice, and allows a return to stock in about 15 mins.
