Starting to think of paint color. This truck was originally Seamist Green and I am starting to like the idea of stock paint. I was considering black but so many are done that way. I want to be unique and the Seamist green is defiantly unique. LOL
Just Looked at your build, very nice start, yea I hate body work the most and that's because am trying to learn as I go very frustrating for an old man like me. Your doing a great job.

Thanks SCRAPHEAP, there is a sense of joy in the end after doing it all yourself. Again thanks for the encouragement!
Looking at your build and following. I looked at post 14, the second photo, showing the front axel, seems to me the "squareness" of the axel beam doesn't appear to be a stock axel for that 56.
Can you fill us in a little more on that, please?
I have a 57 and my axel is pretty similar to the 56, but yours looks different.

Great thread. Thanks for sharing.
If mine had originally been Seamist I would have definitely painted it that color. But mine was forest green and so I went with a free can of paint that was sitting around at work.

Thanks in advance. Aloha.
That is a 3 inch drop axel that I got from Mid Fifty F100 Parts. It is beefy compared to the OG. Also I upgraded to the heavy duty tie rod/ends and the tie rod drop spacers. Thanks for following it is inspiring to hear.

Thanks!!
The more and more I think about the more I like it, I will admit that when I first saw that color I was against it. Now I am definitely feeling it.
Hey, quick question. What transmission crossmember are your using? I'm using a tubular crossmember like yours for the engine (351m) and I have a c6. Are you using a transmission crossmember with a drop? Does that combo fit under the cab no problem?

Below is the part off of Midfifty, I had the cab on when I mocked it up. It fit fine under the cab. That may depend on the height of engine and the anlge that it is installed which should be with in 3degrees for carbs. Also I put the engine mount that I used below.

i'm working with the idea of a color between the sea mist and neptune green…only painting the cab roof a pearl white. and splitting the dash color with white on the lower half, below the rounded upper dash. and the body color on the upper portion. doing the headliner in the pearl white and the rest of the cab in the body color…
i'm moving the battery, power steering and brake reservoir behind the seat in a vented compartment.. with the a/c unit and audio amp(s)/sub, behind the seat on the passenger side..
