This set of photos were taken prior to the rear frame being cleaned, I took the first with the stock rearend still in on the old springs and the second with the 9 inch 0n the old springs if you look at the rear tires in comparison to the frame rails you can see how much the flipping of the axel gave it. It sits perfect!
Well that is about the point that I am at. Next is body work and paint. I'm not that great at it but I will getter dun. I refuse to pay 10K to paint my truck, I live by the saying my Dad always said, "where there's a will there's a way". I have plenty of will in me. Part of the fun of doing a build this way is meeting the people along the way. At this point I must say thanks to the guy in Lancaster, Ca. for selling me the 351C and the 9 inch out of a 1970 Ranchero GT500. It is nice to find a matched set, also the C6 just not sure I will use that. Thinking of AOD. That same guy was also kind enough to include the cherry picker that we used to pull the engine. After selling the stock inline 6 I fared out very well! I will post more once I get back to it, I am having one of those life moments now and need to take care of them first.
Did you notch your frame when you flipped the 9 inch? What kind of clearance have you got between the frame and axle?
BJ
I haven't notched it yet, I have the kit from MF. Right now I have about 3 inches of clearance the notch will iv me 5 or 6 that's a good guess without going out with the tape.

Thanks for the quick reply. Great pics and progress!
Hey guys thanks for the praise. I will hopefully have some new photos of current status this weekend. I am in the process of building some rolling dollies for the cab and the bed out of some old scaffolding. This will enable me to get the body stripped down and keep the frame safe from damage. Thanks again and I look forward to keeping this post alive.
So I never would have thought that anyone would put so much bondo on the bed panel.... it was about 1 inch thick to include outside and inside!!
I ended up using an air hammer to remove bondo from the bed panel on drivers side!
They actually cover three fender bolts!!
No real reason why, the panel flexes a bit in and out but the fenders will stop that un real how much of a waste of time who ever did it.
Cant beat free!! I got a hold of some and bought some casters had a friend due some welding and bam!!! carts for the bed and cab while I grind and sand.
All tucked away for the night just enough room to get to the washer and dryer, that will keep me out of trouble!!
