Drag race Ford 9"
Its been a long time since I posted on here. You guys tend to be more accepting than most boards.
I'm building a chassis for my 65' F100. It is a street/strip truck. I have back halved the frame to lower and relocate springs. I have used mopar leafs with caltracs and sliders. I'm running 31x14.5 ET street wrinkle walls. I need to decide on axles and a third member, I'll be running a full spool as well. I need axles I can shorten latter and a third member that can handle a 10.00 and 18.5 slicks latter.
Does anybody have experience with what axles and a third member will hold a 10.0 reliably? I have about 500hp/550tq and another 150 shot of spray. I'm looking to build it to a solid 10.0 then ramp up the power to pull it off.
I'm currently talking to Dutchman and looking at running 35 spine axles with a spooled pro street complete third member from them. 380 for axles, bearings, retainers, studs, and 1050 for the diff. They only charge 90 to shorten axles too. Any experience with Dutchman? Is there another supplier that is good prices and a good product?
Sorry for the long post, I just dropped 1400 on slicks, tubes, sliders, and caltracs so I'm a little hesitant to just buybuybuy another 1400.
