i have toyed with the idea a zx2, but its seems usless for winter and if i get in a wreck im more likely to get injured. personally the new stangs dont look nice, but the 94-95 are nice. the 87-93 stangs look nice and id ****** one of those anyday. but heres an idea, get a 92-96 f-150 with a 351 2wd and make a "poor mans lightning", basically keep the truck in the condition i buy it, rebuild the motor and add a mild cam, maybe a set of alm heads or SVO heads, headers, hi-flo cats and flowmasters to keep it faily quiet, new throttle body, and all the good stuff and port the intake then add a fiberglass or soft tonau, gear change, etc....then show a ltle civic whats really going on.
I already have a truck my man......what do I want with two 92-96 F-150s? haha that would be funny. Same color?

Tell you what. You're in good shape now, i'd save the mustang for another time in your life. You'll wish for every penny when looking at your first house, getting married, having a kid. BELIEVE me, you will!
It's sad, but true, being a kid is not as easy as it used to be, and it gets harder every year.
If I were you I would make long term investments, starting right now. Get your IRA, stocks, mutual funds, etc. And when your 45-50, you'll be mighty glad you started a little early.
The truth is, in todays world, if you don't have some kind of retirement plan started by the time your 24, you can forget about retiring in your 40's or 50's.
My wifes parents did it right, retired, building their own home, plan on taking lots of trips, and secure for the rest of their retired lives. And they'll probably live to be 100 years old too.
I know it seems like a lot to think about at your age, it did, and still does, for me. (31 years old). But I see a lot of my friends who are struggling now, because they didn't worry about it when they were younger. Do what your parents say, save at least half your cash, and have some fun with the rest.
after all, for 8 grand, you could spend a summer in europe, australia, etc. Having a ton of fun. And you'll have some great memories to boot. (and no insurance to worry about either!)
So if your gonna spend it, do something like that. hehe. in the long run it'll be worth a hell of a lot more to ya, i'll bet.
in all seriousness, u should save for when u start a family and decide to buy a house. ur 18 so if u put away 1/4 of ur total earning for that and good ol uncle sam gets his greedy hands on 1/4 of ur total imcome u are left with around 1/2 (fed taxes are the same and are more i believe for a single male but u shoudlnt have to worry cuz u dont seem like u'll clear the amount needed for janurary) i have accounting class and now in personal finance classes and im 17 and i realized all the taxes u get taken off and it flat put sucks. u could buy a 69-70 mustang fastback or coupe with a 302 or 351W/C v-8 and a 4 speed for around 6G in decent condiction. ur problem with that is, like me, is were in the "rust belt" due to the harsh winters and road salt n all that good stuff. so u might want to look at a 87-93 mustang even though u said u dont really like them. try an LX there cheaper than a GT insurance (i was looking at one and got a rate for a LX and GT and it was a little cheaper for the LX). but u should wait till u have a little extra money saved to go looking for a mustang and at least finish college (taking care of one will take a lot of time espically if its a late 60's) plus that will give u time to learn more in the subject of reapir and all that fun stuff.
Anyone else have anything to say before my topic gets buried with all the others?
