I bought my 2000 V10 Ford Excursion with 77,223 miles on it - today it has 82,490. Just a tad over 5k in a year but considering the enormous amount of time it spent on jack stands I'm not surprised. She's come a long way in a year thanks to all the help from FTE.

To have and to hold, in shop and on the road, with new tires or bald tires, for cleaner or dirtier,,,
any regrets ? Ever thought you would have preferred to buy a better condition EX.?
Oh many many many times, usually on the same days that finished with rags soaking blood up and ice packs, or at the ER (day I broke my ribs). Would I change it do it over if I had the hindsite I do now, looking longer, harder and saved myself alot of work and $$ - absolutely!!
I think I found myself in a situation many have though, when I finally had enough knowledge to grasp the magnitude of what I "bit off to chew" I was too many dollars in to recoup and the best option was to plow on through and fix it all. Is a fair amount of satisfaction in finally getting it done. "Winning"
congrats, you have such a vast knowledge today verses a year ago. you cant buy that!
its funny how quick they grow up. i got my current EX in 10/30/2010 with 102k at 125k now.
Very true, from mechanical dummy to being able to do it my damn self in a year. That alone is worth being scary upside down in $$ with this truck. Plenty more to learn but at least if it breaks now I can probably figure it out with a little help from FTE
Wow! one year and all the knowledge you provide to this site is amazing. Nevermind the learning curve, you didn't even have much of a learning curve to speak of.
