Steering Lock up

Genius I am
after reaching my destination I looked to see if there was something evident about the situation but found nothing
Got it back to the homestead and jacked it up ... greased the uppers & lower ball joints.... also shot grease into the u joints in front end.....
Hopped back in and took it for a ride... Improvement but still had to assist the steering return to center.... Got the misses into the seat and had her (while truck in the air) move wheel back and forth and saw only the damper moving...and knew it wasn't a cure but would stop the "jumping sensation from center) ...

I posted this as a question and was advised on camber which led to no where as an 05 which has nothing on it to adjust.... Looked thru the Tech Folder and found information on ball joints (and u-joints were mentioned)
.... Called a buddy and he said " yep you've got frozen ball joints..... Called another buddy and he suggested putting it on stands and removing tie rods......
What a great idea.... try to isolate the side giving the problem.... Passenger side in the air... on stands ... disconnect tie rod end and it wouldn't turn...
The amount of motion showed the axle shaft wasn't moving left~right..Since then I've removed the tire, brakes, brackets, Hub locks, outer hub, inner snap ring....(btw pliers @ napa and threw the "old ones in sons box") Pulled the axle and behold
Locked up tighter than a drum... U joint from Napa.....New inner seal (ford AC3Z-1s175) which is a replacement for original... (now I can tell if u joints ever replaced) , lots of buffing clean and going back together while dodging rain drops & boss has Yelled "DINNER IS READY"
The other side is free... You think maybe I should replace that one too ??

Tomorrow is another day
I had uppers/lowers replaced a few years ago and kick myself for not making them do the u-joints while in there!!!
I forgot what is involved now. Did you say only a U-joint and an inner seal were necessary? Nothing else had to be knocked-out? I swore we had to use a special tool to knock out the seat and replace that, too!!
Guess I'm gonna have to reread the ball-joint tech folder for a refresher!!
