Speedometer Jumping

I have my 2000 F150 that I recently noticed the speedometer sometimes will bounce a little like there is an error with the speed sensor. I was just wondering where the truck reads the vehicle speed from?

Thanks,
Ken

The truck has an input from a sensor called the VSS.
The signal drives a solid state device in the dash.
The output of the device drives the speedo display.
Could be either one or even a faulty circuit board in the dash.
Good luck.
