need shifter boot for 64' f250 4x4 trans and transfer
any good ideas
transfer is oval about 2 1/2"x 6"
the shifter is round 3 1/2"
Hey Schoo I used a boot out of a later model truck in the 70s. Im not sure of the year and I also used the transfer case boot. You might take a look at Bronco Grave Yard that is a sponser on this site. I put an aftermarket cloth tieup over the rubber boot for the TC shifter as the top of the rubber was torn and it looked bad. If it wasnt torn I think it would have looked just fine. Im still keeping my eye out in the p&s for another better one.
Edit: Hey schoo on that shift tower boot. I put it under the trans cover and it is sitting on top of a foam block that was factory installed. Here is a picture of that foam block.
Good luck with it let me know what you end up doing if it is better I might borrow you idea.
