Fuel issue

Working on my brothers 90 F150, rear fuel pump not running, replaced it, still not running, front pump works fine. Switch on dash is changing gauges, just not sure if it is switching the tank valve. Not very familiar with Fords. Can someone help please?

I think I am correct in thinking the switch may be bad . I have replaced some for this issue . The gauge may switch , but power to pump is not supplied . If you pull the switch and see a melted mess , you found the problem .

first off i'm only running off rear tank, front has hole in it. it has an intermitten power problem, i think also fuel, it boggs down, poping back threw the intake, after a few seconds it will pick back up and run right. its had full tune up and fuel filter.
