Engine Oil Dipstick

So I put Pace Setter shorty headers on my 351w about 6 months ago.

Ever since then I've just had it (the dipstick tube) ziptied to some bracket that's near it to keep it from going anywhere.

Was there something I was supposed to do with it to mount it more permanently? There were probably instructions on what to do with it, but I definitely threw those away.

I believe they don't account for the dipstick tube. SIXLITRE over @ FSB bought these:

Ford part # 392017-S430

He then installed them in the factory locations that had studs and bolted everything back up. Same situation on the other side for the dipstick tube.

Alrighty, thanks Evan.

I figured it was just something that was over looked by whomever designed them.

Every thread I have seen on header swaps never accounted for the dipstick tube other than what you did with a zip-tie.

I was searching all over on this site and couldn't find anybody that had pictures of the headers installed in the truck after I put mine in, so I figured zip-ties were a good option for temporary. But anyway, thanks again for that, I'll stop losing my mind on what I did wrong now.

Oh, and I was gonna throw a big pile of reps at you, but apparently I need to share the reps with other people first.

I figure it's important to finish this thread with what the outcome was.

I saved all the studs that came out of my motor with the exception of one that broke. The longest stud that came out, which I'm assuming is the one that belonged there, I used to secure up the dipstick. I just turned in the end that has the hex head on it already and secured the header, and sandwiched the dipstick with 2 nuts pretty tightly.

So if anybody gets a set of headers, plan on having at least 1 extra header bolt left over if you're going to keep the dipstick bolted in place on these windsors.
